StratoX360 should enable every person worldwide to travel virtually to stratosphere and experience an unforgettable view over mother earth. This is getting realized with six GoPro Hero 4 cameras, mounted in a special 360 degree mount. These cameras will record with a resolution of 2.7K (2.7 times full-HD resolution) to get an 8K spherical video, where free camera perspective turning is possible. This is getting super special with virtual reality glasses. Of course it is also possible for everyone to experience this trip without these special glasses. The cameras, together with an orbiter, equipped with a data logger, 3 battery-packs as well as a GPS-Tracker, will be mounted at a special weather balloon which will travel to an altitude of 115.000 feet. After the balloon bursts a parachute will slow the orbiter down to a max. sink rate of about 23 feet/s. With the built in GPS-Trackers it is possible to locate the landing site and get back our orbiter full of awesome video material.
